Abstract
Cutaneous metastases from internal malignancies, especially gastric cancer, rarely occur and generally indicate a very poor prognosis. Skin metastasis of gastric cancer usually appears as solitary or multiple painless, firm nodules of sudden onset, but it also presents as various skin lesions mimicking other dermatoses, such as carcinoma erysipelatoides or carcinoma en cuirasse. We report an unusual case of suspicious metastatic gastric carcinoma presenting as diffuse erythematous patches. Clinicians should be aware of uncommon manifestations of cutaneous metastases and any suspicious skin lesions, particularly in patients with a history of malignancies, should be promptly evaluated.
